Studying abroad in Paris, one of the world's fashion capitals, was an unforgettable chapter in my academic journey. The IESEG Summer School experience was truly transformative, giving me an opportunity to explore both fashion and luxury marketing on a global scale. In just two weeks, I immersed myself in the dynamic world of Fashion Business and Luxury Marketing while also developing essential skills that will help shape my future career in the fashion industry.
Exploring Fashion Business and Luxury Marketing
The academic structure of the IESEG Summer School was designed to give us a comprehensive understanding of fashion from both business and luxury perspectives. During the first week, we focused on Luxury Marketing. We delved into the unique challenges and opportunities luxury brands face, including the importance of exclusivity, brand heritage, and crafting exceptional customer experiences. It was fascinating to understand how luxury brands do more than sell products—they create aspirational lifestyles that embody status and prestige. This deeper insight into consumer psychology sharpened my marketing skills, especially when it came to customer segmentation and brand positioning.
In the second week, the program shifted to a more fashion-oriented focus, allowing me to apply the concepts I learned from Luxury Marketing to the broader fashion industry. The importance of storytelling became clear, as we explored how a brand’s narrative plays a key role in consumer loyalty and engagement.
